Put a smile on

A genuine, friendly smile will increase your likeability and demonstrate to the interviewer that you have personality. You don't want to come across as too serious or negative; no one wants to work with people like that every day. Smile, laugh if appropriate, but don't make it look too forced or manic, or you'll come across as scary. It immediately creates a sense of warmth and trust in the other person.

Always make eye contact

Eye contact is extremely important, as long as it is used appropriately. Why do you think it's important to keep eye contact with a police officer when you're pulled over? Eye contact should be maintained 80 percent of the time. Keeping your eyes level with the person you're communicating with shows them you're self-assured and confident. This is especially useful if you're explaining or presenting a difficult or valuable message.

Keep your shoulders up

earn how to project confidence by standing tall, pushing your shoulders back slightly, and opening up your chest. Make sure your shoulders are even, as unevenness conveys indecision. Also, make sure your shoulders are squared toward your speaking partner.

Make a firm handshake

A firm, strong handshake is one of the most effective ways to convey confidence without appearing arrogant. People are drawn to people who have faith in others and want to work with them. A shaky handshake makes you appear weak and incompetent, and it raises questions about your ability to do the job.

Use gestures while talking or presenting

When used sparingly, this gesture can be very effective. Making gentle hand gestures as you speak can help you make your point while also calming your nerves. However, if you overdo it, you will come across as extremely nervous, which you do not want

Don't stand too close to another party

Standing too close will make people feel uneasy, and standing too far away may imply insecurity. Standing about an arm's length away shows that you are willing to engage and speak with the person.

Have clarity in your speech

The goal is to make people understand what you have to say. You don't have to show off your vocabulary. Always try to keep it simple.
