Your own dedicated work desk
It is really important for your productivity. It gives you a sense of responsibility like you get when you are in the office. When you work at different places like the hall, kitchen, bedroom, balcony, it can give you temporal stress relief but continued working there, it makes you less productive, you get lost every time in things that you can not focus.
Set some boundaries
When you are working from home, it’s obvious that you are gonna get distracted by your friends, families. You are at home now, and most probably you will have to get involved in family matters even you don’t want to. Since you are at home, your family and friends might think that you are available every time and distract you with their silly little things. You need to set some boundaries in your workspace. Tell them about your work schedule and ask them not to disturb you if it’s not urgent. It’s really important that you say no to things that are not urgent.
Make a to-do list
In the office, your manager or someone might guide you on what to do, but at home, you are your own boss. You need to be prepared for the day so that you don’t miss anything. Make a to-do list with all the important work you have to do today. Keep important work first and least important work at the last. If you keep a detailed list, you might accomplish more things than you ever did.
Use productivity apps
These days there are applications for any function required at the workplace. Organize your notes with the apps like Evernote. Organize your tasks and projects with the apps like Jira and Asana. Find apps that are useful to your productivity and they will give your productivity a much-needed boost.
Schedule your breaks
After every 2 hours, give yourself a small break, go in the kitchen and eat something nice. Also, give yourself a lunch break as well. After the break, you will see that you are more productive and you have a fresh mind to pick up where you left off.
Get ready before starting work
Always brush your teeth, take a shower, eat breakfast, and get dressed before starting work. Don’t work in your pajama. working in Pajama is a great way of ruining your productivity. Because the attitude of your clothing and other hygiene standards affects your productivity.
Manage your phone
When you are at home, nobody is seeing you using the phone and nobody is there to complain about your phone use, that doesn’t mean that you will use it compulsively. With every notification of social media, you get distracted and waste some valuable minutes of your working hours. You can either silent the notifications or you might use apps like ‘stay focused’ to well stay focused. It lets you block distracting websites and apps for a particular time so that you can focus on the real thing.
